Ok, so a week later since the course and I have definitely noticed a change in my mentality and attitude-mainly not assuming or judging patients needs, or being prejudice. My nurse has noticed too, and as a result she is more positive, which is having a great effect on rapport with the patients! I am also not dropping the prices of private treatment :)...I think every day I have been at work since being on the course, I have offered a lot more private work than previously, and to people I wouldn't have expected to be able to afford it...

In terms of what I am doing at the examination appointments, I am a lot more conscious of how I am saying things. I am listening more to what and how patients are responding, which is changing the questions I am asking them. I think every day I have been at work since being on the course, I have offered a lot more private work than previously, and to people I wouldn't have expected to be able to afford it. Lots have gone on to book the appointments, a couple have said they will call back at the reception, even though they have left the surgery keen. So I need to work on those conversations....

I am lucky to have an established patient list having been at the practice for a long time, so rapport is no problem, and giving options isn't-its the final step that was always the issue, the closing! 

I think I still need to work on objections and closing a bit more. I  appreciate that will improve with practice, but I now know what responses I should be giving.

I am looking forward to trying out the full dialogue on new patients. We are apparently one of the top practices in the uk at obtaining new patients, so it shall be interesting to see how they respond. 

We are also starting to obtain testimonials more frequently than before to build up evidence as this is definitely something we all slacked with. Also before and after pics.

I am going to start reading your second book, having finished the first. It definitely has been the kick up the bum I've needed!!
